"We knew something had to change or we would kill ourselves
continuing to do it the way we always had! 'Do you want to
continue being a fireman or would you rather learn how to be
Smokey the Bear?' This is one of the first questions I remember
being asked by Rhonda Robinson, during our initial phone
conversation with her and the rest of the Division Managers in

generation family business?
We chose to work with Robinson Enterprises, because Rhonda

that ignited our Management Team. Rhonda helped us realize that
a performance culture is what separates the exceptional

get 'buy-in' from their people, the average companies 'tell
their employees what to do without taking input or suggestions
from them.' We just didn’t want to be average any more,
we wanted to be exceptional. Rhonda helped us craft a Vision
for our company, together with a long-term Strategic Plan, and
also assisted in developing our Mission Statement. With input
from all our employees, and using their words, a page of
company Values was born. Many of us held these Values in our
heads and our hearts, but needed to have them on paper as the
ultimate measure of accountability.
As we began our Strategic brainstorming sessions with Rhonda,
we quickly came to the realization that our operations needed
some serious work; or, as Rhonda would say, 'an area of
greatest opportunity.' I feel timing is critical, and we are so
thankful we began recognizing the importance of tightening our
operations a couple years ago with some much needed policies
and procedures that we have in place today. In light of the
economic times we are in currently, the disciplined habits we
have developed in our business has made a big impact on our
bottom line.
As we have seen some of our competitors go out of business
recently, we are excited knowing we will be in much better
shape and more prepared than ever before. Our greatest assets
